Bestselling author Deborah Feldman’s life has been characterised by fundamental change. At the age of 20, she left the strict Orthodox Jewish community she grew up in and redefined her guiding principles. Sasha Waltz is an award-winning dancer and choreographer. She uses the power of bodywork to transform emotions into performances, individuals into collectives. In this session, two women with very different backgrounds engage in a personal and political conversation on limitations, pragmatism and transformation. The dialogue is followed by a reflection with historian Hedwig Richter and sociologist Heinz Bude on what personal transformation can teach us about social change.
